More about me...
😃“We learn best from times of enjoyment,” according to Dr. Ralph Smedley, Founder of Toastmasters International. That said, you are an ideal client (for me) if you have a good sense of humor and laugh. Laughter is not only good for your soul; laughter is good for your physical and mental wellness. More importantly, let's enjoy our coaching times!
Leadership...
As the chairman of CAYA Alliance, a non-profit focusing on wellness; Coach/Director for Professional Development for a veterans’ professional development organization; Coach/Director for Learning and Development for a non-profit focusing on healing the mind; and as a Coach/Development Director for individuals transitioning from one industry to another, wellness is a theme in my professional and personal life.
Involvement...
As evidenced with a membership in the Arts District Toastmasters Club, communication, collaboration, and coordination are important. For that reason, each coaching connection is a partnership. I partner with individuals - inspiring them to think through important questions, and achieve clarity, helping them work through several overwhelming decisions about personal or career moves to achieve a greater level of consciousness, focus and personal happiness. As a result, clients are receptive to new opportunities, options and possibilities… this leads to successes.
Influences...
My coaching has been deeply influenced by my studies in energy, leadership, positive psychology, self-efficacy and strengths-based coaching. My coaching has also been influenced by leadership roles in a number organizations such as the U.S. Army, the US Small Business Administration, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and in varying industries or functions - military, government administration, banking, credit and financial analysis, facilitation, teaching, instructing, tutoring, mentoring and instructional design. I have worked in various states and in South Korea.
Training...
Learning and development are an integral part of who I am. Case in point, I am an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC); Certified Professional Coach (CPC) from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC); a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) from National Career Development Association (NCDA) and a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE). I am certified to administer several assessments; additionally, my specialties include conscious leadership development, holistic life plan design, values-based communication, perspective shift, and organizational effectiveness.
As for even more education, I have a Master of Science in Human Resources Training & Development with a concentration in Adult Training & Development.
3 words that describe my coaching style are ...
Insightful, inquisitive, intuitive. My coaching style consists of assessing and accessing core energy – essentially, coaching from the inside out, stressing your individual spiritual gifts and talents, unique blend of strengths, positivity, focus, self-efficacy and personal power.
I recently read Energy Leadership: Transforming Your Workplace and Your Life from the Core by Bruce D. Schneider, PhD. My proudest accomplishment is ... having a son who has his own thoughts, beliefs and ideas about life and love. Also, I am proud to consistently demonstrate to my child, family, friends and everyone around me - goal-setting, accomplishment and resilience is essential to a successful, well-lived life.
My proudest moment is when my mother said, "I like talking to you. I learn something every from you every time we talk." I’m most grateful for ...all of my experiences. All experiences (facilitating, leading, mentoring, supervising, teaching and coaching) - including successes and opportunities - have led me to recognizing my purpose, passion and impact through my work as a coach.🧡
Everyone is perfectly and uniquely made. The Universe has a plan for everyone. Through inner work, discovery and acceptance individuals discern who they are – preferences, personality, motivations, skills, abilities, knowledge, strengths, energy, etc.; and individuals determine their uniqueness; thus, discovering their competitive advantage.
We love our clients, so feel free to call or text Monday - Thursday; 9:00am - 7:00pm.
Calls and text messages will be returned within 24 hours.
